Rammstein is a German metal band formed in 1994 widely accepted as part of the Neue Deutsche Härte-scene. Their sound has been dubbed as Tanz-Metall. Their songs are performed almost exclusively in German. They have sold over 12 million records worldwide. Even though the majority of their songs are written in German, Rammstein has had massive success across the world, spanning to every nation. It has been confirmed that the band is reunited from their vacation and has begun writing their sixth studio album, which will be released sometime in 2008.
Sehnsucht (German for "Longing" and sometimes translated as "Hunger") is Rammstein's second album. It was released on August 1997. The album booklet folds out to reveal six different covers, one for each band member This album is the only entirely in German to be certified Platinum in the United States.
"Du hast" is one of the band's best known song worldwide, owing to its inclusion on the soundtrack of The Matrix and heavy airplay on MTV. Two versions of the video can be found, one with the chorus and first three verses in English, and another completely in German. The lyrics to the English version are not a translation of the lyrics in German.
